Applied Kinesiology

Your body is a complete system. Applied Kinesiology is a powerful tool for understanding that system.

Applied Kinesiology, also referred to as AK, treats your body as a complete system - structural, chemical and emotional. Known as the Triad of Health, these three aspects of you are related to each other and are integral parts of what make you either healthy or unhealthy. These three windows into the body are at the foundation of how Applied Kinesiology works.

Using Applied Kinesiology, Dr. Nicholai isolates and tests your muscles anywhere in the body (using manual muscle testing) to help determine what’s going on in your body. This may be in response to a symptom you report, something seen on postural analysis, or as part of a general evaluation of overall health. For example, seeing a high left shoulder on postural analysis might indicate poor sugar handling abilities since a particular shoulder muscle relates to the pancreas.

Applied Kinesiology incorporates skills from many disciplines, including chiropractic, osteopathy, medicine, dentistry, acupuncture, biochemistry, psychology, homeopathy, and naturopathy. It is developed and overseen by the International College of Applied Kinesiology Board of Standards. Applied Kinesiologists share knowledge through the publications and conferences of the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK).

Many people find Fullest Life when searching for Applied Kinesiology in Rochester, New York. We are one of the very few offices in the area who provide AK treatment, and we fully integrate it with our nutritional and chiropractic care. To add to that Dr. Nicholai has been practicing Applied Kinesiology since 2003, which makes him the longest standing member of the ICAK in Rochester.
