Of the many chiropractors in Rochester NY, we are unique in the ways we incorporate Applied Kinesiology and nutrition to our approach.
Chiropractic care continues to gain popularity, especially because it is non-invasive and uses a simple, natural approach. We diagnose and treat problems associated with the muscular, nervous and skeletal systems. This means that if your issue relates to the nerves, spine, extra-spinal joints or muscles, we treat them naturally. Everything in your body is regulated by your nervous system. Think of it this way: your brain is the command center and your liver, heart, kidneys, muscles, skin, EVERYTHING, is regulated by the brain. The spine is the circuitry that your brain uses to talk to all those parts of the body. If the spine is moving too much or too little that connection from the brain to the tissue is compromised and so is the the health of that heart, kidney, muscle, and so on. Chiropractic aims to allow the best communication from brain to body and thus the most optimal health of the whole body.
If the spine is not functioning optimally pain can develop in response or maybe there is a direct trauma that is causing pain. Our first goal is to help all our patients find relief from their pain, whether it is major or minor, chronic or acute. Did you know that only 10% of pain ever reaches your conscious level? It’s true; 90% of the time your nervous system regulates the situation without your brain (awareness) ever knowing about it!
But not all chiropractors are the same. Some will schedule you for repeat appointments with no end in sight, or might feel like a drive-thru service where you see the doctor for 4 minutes, pay, schedule a follow-up, and repeat. That’s not Fullest Life.
Our approach focuses on your total health and wellness.
That’s tough to do in a drive-thru appointment, and (more importantly) shouldn’t require frequent, ongoing adjustments with no end date. We aim to resolve the underlying issue and treat you so that you need to return less and less frequently.
In addition to heredity, your health is affected by exercise, diet, rest and environment. We typically recommend modifications to these aspects for achieving optimal health. We also provide natural, drugless, non-surgical health treatments to support the body’s natural inherent recuperative abilities.
Like other health practitioners, chiropractors follow a standard routine to learn what we need to diagnose and treat you. We will take your medical history, conduct exams (physical, neurological, orthopedic) and may order laboratory tests. X-rays and other diagnostic images are important tools we sometimes use, because of our emphasis on the spine and its proper function. X-rays are not required to start treatment.
Treatment may include spinal adjustment, applying supports where needed (braces, straps, tapes, etc.), and coaching you through lifestyle changes that will contribute to your overall health.
